CNB at Festival Ao Largo
The Companhia Nacional de Bailado (National Ballet Company) participates, as usual, in the Millenium Festival Ao Largo, presenting a double programme with pieces by Vasco Wellenkamp and Ohad Naharin.
Sinfonia dos Salmos
Vasco Wellenkamp is an unmissable name in Portuguese dance. He developed several projects that contributed to the trajectory of dance in Portugal over the last 50 years, including the creation of the Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo, alongside Graça Barroso, in 1998, and the artistic direction of the CNB, between 2007 and 2010. In this programme, we revisit Sinfonia dos Salmos, work created in 1992 for the Gulbenkian Ballet.
Minus 16
With an eclectic score that ranges from Dean Martin to mambo, from techno to traditional Israeli music, Minus 16, by Ohad Naharin, uses improvisation and the acclaimed Gaga method created by Naharin, which is based on the understanding and research of movement, through the connection between body and mind.
