Panmela Castro

This is visual artist Panmela Castro’s first solo exhibition at Galeria Francisco Fino. Based on the idea of “affective drift”, she proposes chance as the subject of an incessant search for a sense of belonging.
During a few weeks, Panmela Castro set up a studio on a balcony with plants and tiles, and there she received a series of people – friends, Portuguese and immigrants, newly met and unknown – to be portrayed. The result is the portraits presented in this exhibition.
