CAM’s Opening Party

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Centro de Arte Moderna (CAM), which houses a significant collection of modern and contemporary Portuguese art, as well as works by international artists, reopens to the public on September 21, after four years of in-depth renovations.

The previous building, designed by British architect Leslie Martin and opened in 1983, was completely redesigned by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, in collaboration with landscape architect Vladimir Djurovic.

For the (re)opening, Gulbenkian prepared an extensive and varied programme that includes performances, concerts, talks, workshops and five exhibitions, some of them inaugurating new exhibition spaces at the Center. Sunday will be about Japan with a lineup that includes performances by Ryoko Sekiguchi and Samon Takahashi, among other events.
