Olhares do Mediterrâneo
Women’s Film Festival
Cinema made by women from Mediterranean countries is once again highlighted at Olhares do Mediterranean – Women’s Film Festival. The 11th edition’s theme is “Everyday Revolutions”, to remind us that revolutions happen every day and must be constantly renewed to keep democracy alive. It features 67 films from 28 countries, most of which are having their national premiere.
Palestine is the guest country and films by female directors from the Palestinian diaspora are programmed at Cinemateca. Also noteworthy is “Five Andalusian shorts”, curated by the programmers of GENERAMMA, Festival de Cine Realizado por Mujeres – Chiclana, Blanca Rey, Oliva Acosta and Montserrat Ogalla, who present the films and talk about the challenges of women’s film festivals in southern Europe.
