From the end of the 60s of the 20th century, a wind of change blew in the art of puppetry in Portugal, accompanying the metamorphosis that was beginning to be felt in the field of arts in general. Progressively, the puppet’s itinerancy went from the street to the living room, going to schools, acquiring new techniques, opening up to dramaturgy, and giving voice to classic texts.
The puppet and its theatre proved to be an important mediator of the new concept of education through art, which began to pave the way at that time. The Puppet Revolution Exhibition brings together a surprising set of puppets from the most important puppeteers of the 70s and 80s.
