Aplauso
40 years celebrating the show

Aplauso revisits four decades of the history of this Museum, highlighting its unique contribution to the preservation of our country’s cultural memory and remembering great figures, remarkable shows and transformations that shaped theater, dance and music in Portugal, from the end of the 19th century to the present day.
With a contemporary approach to the exhibitions that have been on display at the Museum over time, and through its collections, the most recent personalities will be remembered, including stage names such as Eunice Muñoz and Amália Rodrigues; stage designers such as José Manuel Castanheira and Lucien Donnat; dance figures such as Francis Graça and Anna Mascolo; and, for the first time at the Museum, the complete collection of costumes made by Paula Rego for the Gulbenkian Ballet will be shown.
The exhibition aims to applaud all those who have passed through the stages and who continue to be present in the collections they care for, preserving our collective memory.
Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm
