Caixa Alfama

September is synonymous with Caixa Alfama. On the 27th and 28th, the streets and alleys of Alfama, and also the churches in the neighborhood (which are transformed into stages) fill up again with people to hear fado. This year, the festival pays homage to Fernando Maurício in a show with Jorge Fernando and guests (September 27, at the Lisbon Cruise Terminal). Another of the highlights of this edition is the show Em Casa d’Amália, with José Gonçalez inviting Carminho, António Zambujo, André Dias, Flávio Cardoso Jr and Tiago Maia (September 28, in the same place). Also noteworthy are the performances by Camané, Marco Rodrigues, Marina Mota, Ricardo Ribeiro, Nuno Guerreiro, among others. Full programme here.
