Davi Pontes & Wallace Ferreira
Starting from the question, How can a dance of self-defence be elaborated?, the Brazilian duo Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira experiment with symbolic deviations from the violence programmed by the State and by institutions that ensure order through repression. Using unconventional and informal techniques, they embrace an alternative, underground lineage of self-defence practices. Their aim is to liberate themselves from both implicit and explicit constraints, confronting the colonial, racial, and cisheteropatriarchal frameworks inherent in Western thought.
In Lisbon, they will present the pieces Repertório N.º 2 (February 7, 7:30 pm) and Repertório N.º3 (February 8, 5:30 pm); the film/installation Delirar o Racial (February 7 and 8, 3 pm to 9 pm) and participate in the talk Coreografia da Palavra (February 8, 6:30 pm) with local artists who share similar artistic practices.
