Hamlet – L’ Ange du Bizarre
Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, has inspired all kinds of artists. The subtitle L’ Ange du Bizarre was added to the title, a reference to Baudelaire’s translation of a work by Edgar Allan Poe (The Angel of the Odd) and to an exhibition that the collective visited in Paris and that influenced them greatly. About the show, Miguel Moreira writes: “With this creation, we seemed to be seeking the image of people who free themselves from their (social and psychological) tethers, who walk free in search of a new meaning for themselves in the world.” Adding “Hamlet will always be a literary work that can light our darkest days, and where we can try to find, with no destination in mind, what keeps us here, tethered to the wonder of life.”
