Integral Kinuyo Tanaka
Film cycle
The first woman to film in the Japanese post-war period, Kinuyo Tanaka explored, alone and without much continuity, a space almost entirely reserved for men. Between 1953 and 1962, she directed six feature films working in mainstream cinema produced by the Japanese studio system. This cycle presents, in full, the works of a pioneer director in Japanese cinema.
