Jewels for Democracy
Jewels for Democracy is one of the main events of the Jewellery Biennial, opening in April 2024 at the Royal Treasure Museum. The exhibition features the participation of around 60 jewelry artists who were challenged to create a piece of jewelry in honor of women who played an important role in the transition to democracy or suffered especially with the dictatorship.
In this exhibition, each artist freely chooses a recognized or anonymous woman who marked or marks activism in democracy. In addition to Portuguese women, some women who, in other geographies, defended, suffered and fought for the same ideals will also be honored.
Everyday, 10 am to 6 pm
