Kavita Shah returns to Portugal after her resounding success in 2023 to present her album, Cape Verdean Blues, live at Teatro São Luiz. The award-winning American jazz singer and composer brings us her album recorded as a tribute to Cesária Évora, and is joined on stage by Bau and Jorge Almeida, on guitars, and N’Du on percussion. At the heart of this 12-track album is Sodade, an idiomatic word with no equivalent in English, but which evokes a melancholy feeling of transience that permeates Cape Verde, its music and its free-spirited island population.
