LIEDFEST

From January 16 to February 2, the recently opened Teatro Variedades hosts the 1st edition of LIEDFEST. With artistic direction by soprano Catarina Molder, the new Art Song Festival proposes to explore the scenic side of the recital format with staged recitals and recitals that intersect with dance, for varied audiences.

This 1st edition includes some of the greatest Lieder cycles of all time and also songs by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, Fauré, Chausson, Ravel, Poulenc, Granados or Crumb, including Portuguese composers such as Luís de Freitas Branco, Fernando Lopes Graça and António Chagas Rosa, a marathon of young performers, celebrating Camões and great poetry.
