Paulo Brighenti

Mãe is the name of the project that Paulo Brighenti presents at Galeria Belo-Galsterer. In a room full of immersive drawings, which transport the visitor out of the city and into nature, there is a table in the center where two left hands rest. These are two moulds of the artist’s left hand, which is stated as a creative element, while “the right hand only handles the material”. The hands appear here, surrounded by nature: plants, flowers and leaves, symbols of the eternal cycle of life. The title mãe (mother) appears itself as an image of nature, origin and source of life, in which we live and of which we are an intrinsic part.
