Museu de Lisboa - Palácio Pimenta
Reopening of the permanent exhibition

After a long process of remodelling the building, updating the museum discourse and introducing new pieces to the exhibition, it is once again possible to visit the Museum of Lisbon – Pimenta Palace in its entirety.

The 11 renovated rooms on the first floor of the permanent exhibition now broaden the geographical and chronological horizons of the city’s history, revealing its urban, social and cultural evolution from the 17th century to the end of the 20th century with Parque das Nações.

Through varied works including models, engravings, paintings, photographs, furniture, ceramics and tiles, testimonies to a history that some still remember, new chapters are told in a narrative under permanent construction about the evolution of the city, one of Europe’s oldest capitals, transformed every day by those who inhabit and visit it.

Entry to the Pimenta Palace will be free on September 13, 14 and 15, in an invitation extended to all visitors to get to know the renovated building where Lisbon’s history lives. Over these three days, the Museum will offer guided tours and workshops for families.
