Scary Pockets

In funk, when someone says that a band is “in the pocket”, it means it is able to create that irresistible groove. Scary Pockets is comprised of beasts, veteran and experimented musicians, able to translate to the universal funk language almost all other musical languages. Their distinctive mark consists of taking popular songs of other genres and pretending that they were born out of the hands of an unruly James Brown, applying funk polish to songs both classic and less classic from other areas, from Bee Gees to Radiohead, and giving them new, unexpected life.

Their recordings have been released at a thrilling pace since 2017 and they have collaborated with over 200 stars so far, including David Ryan Harris, Larry Goldings, John Mayer, Darren King, Sean Hurley, James Gadson, Darren Criss, Judith Hill, Bruno Major, Theo Katzman, Lizzy McAlpine and Joshua Radin. The 2024 tour of the band Scary Pockets will present Ryan Lerman (co-founder and guitarist), as well as a series of other top-notch musicians.
